Default Hydroponic stores

I went to the hydroponic store Quick Grow yesterday to pick up some ferts. I couldn`t believe how little I paid for all the ferts I need compared to buying liquid from the LFS. I bought 500g of KNO3, 200g of chelate (trace), and probably almost 1000g of K2SO4 (he charged me only for 500g worth), and I only paid $34 for all of these. For a single bottle of comprehensive seachem fertilizer I used to spend around $25-30 and it would only last me a month or somewhere around there, and that`s not including the trace and iron I would have to buy. I still buy the iron in liquid form, but a little of it goes a long way. The dry ferts should last me 3-6 months, dosing them on more than one tank. I should be saving at least $50 a year by buying dry. I also like the store Quick Grow which is located on edmonton trail just south of 16th avenue, they are great to deal with. I highly recommend buying dry to anyone with planted tanks

Haha that's awsome, i went in there a long time ago trying to sell them a point of sale terminal haha. That seems pretty expensive actually for what you paid for it.

maybe in bc it's different? But yea... it's still way better then liquid stuff!

When you mix the dry ferts into DI water you want to store in in the frige or else it will grow fungus on it.. believe it or not.

Good tip for people who are using liquid currently and want to switch to dry, way cheaper

It could be a BC thing :P But in the long run it's worth it. Did they buy a system?

I normally mix the ferts in a glass of tank water to dissolve them, then put them straight into the tank. I guess I could always do a larger batch so I don't have to mix it as often. Duh!

Personally, I don't think any employee's working at Simply Hydroponics (the store in the article) is tipping off the cops;this is probably why the bacon watch the store from across the street. However, there is another hydroponic store, just 5min way, that I suspect is cooperating with leo. I suspect this store owner is a rat for three reasons: 1) someone I know got raided for a trafficing charge and weasled his way out by telling the popo about the store owner who was secretly funding grow ops. 2) 6-12 months later, 20-30 major grows all got busted within a month. 3) The store is still in business but cops never stake it out.
